Collaborative storytelling with a person with aphasia

Introduction: This study explores practices employed by a person with aphasia (PWA) and his wife to organize collaborative storytelling in multiparty interaction. We identify that further the PWA’s agency – impact on action while he is telling story together wife. Method: Using conversation analysis (CA), we carried out case of successful sequence involving 39-year-old man anomic during friends. Analysis: The PWA contributed initiating producing short but significant utterances which provided essential information displayed epistemic authority. spouse aligned initiated actions supported giving him room speak, for example, gaze retraction. Discussion: offers insight into allowed this achieve agency. Our findings show communication partner training could benefit from implementing activities such as storytelling.
